As a service to the community members make comfort quilts
and lap-blankets with
materials provided by, or donated to, the guild. The comfort quilts are
given to the Red Cross, battered women's shelter, crisis nursery and
Lewiston and Clarkston police and fire departments to give to families
and children in time of crisis. Seaport Quilters provide over 100 quilts
per year to the valley for this cause. The lap-blankets are made
for residents of area nursing homes for when they are in their chairs to
keep them warm and comfortable. |
Every year Camelot Elementary school conducts a Fourth Grade Rendezvous
where the children are introduced to many outdoor and self-help
skills.
One of our guild members works with the children on a small
quilting project to teach them about the fabric-arts. |
We are frequently asked to make a quilt for a cause. This quilt was made
for Whitman Elementary School to raise funds for an
educational boat trip into Hell's Canyon.
Other beneficiaries have been St. Josephs Medical Center,
our local Boys & Girls Club, and Wishing Star Foundation. |

Each
year the guild decorates a tree for Tri-State Hospital Foundation's
"Festival of Trees" fund raiser for various extras at the
hospital. Members make hand-stitched decorations, quilts, and
accessories to decorate the tree which is then sold at auction, earning
funds for hospital projects.
