Block Party:
April : Lily of the Field
June: 4th of July Whirling Octagon |
Ladies,
Well,
the quilt show is over for another year! I am so proud to have
been part of it this year. All the comments that have come my way
have been totally positive. My customers have all told me what a
wonderful show we had. The janitors at the school told me what a
great group we have. There was no complaining and everything was
well taken care of. The vendors all tell us that we take care of
them better than any other show they go to. It all makes me proud
to be a member of this guild. I want to thank all of you who
volunteered to help on the committees with Kathy and me this year.
You all did a wonderful job. And to all the volunteers who helped
with sitting up the show, taking down, floor walking, the vendor lunch,
and the many other facets of the show- THANK YOU!. And it's not to
early to start thinking about next year. Please give it some
thought in the next few weeks. Already, some have volunteered to
be committee chairs, so let's get the ball rolling and see what we might
do next year. Again thank you for all the hard work and making
this year's show such a success,
Connie |

Missing Infor ?????
Cattle Country Quilts sold a pattern to a tall blond,
very pretty woman at our quilt show. The woman paid in cash fro
the pattern, " Horsin Around". However, Cass Botts at Cattle
Country, can't read the name or address on her receipt!
So, if you're the one who bought this pattern and are
waiting patiently for it in the mail, you'll need to contact them with
your information.

Thanks to our Members:
I was so surprised by the quilt you gifted me at the last meeting.
I am not sure if it was in memory of Hal or my second year of being
president, but I am truly thankful. Your kindness and
support the last three years has made my life easier. Quilt
friends are the best; you patch broken hearts back together!
Sincerely, Nancy Krueger
Also from Nancy:
I Want to thank Janine Schnider and Susan
Pakula for helping me with History Day firth graders in Asotin County.
We show the basics of quilting on 7" finished blocks. It is quite
a process to get all these little "quilts" made. Pam Smith donated
some of the fabric from comfort quilts, some fabrics are newly purchased
and much fabric was donated from individual stashes. Illa Smith
purchased several packages of quilting needles that we gather up and
re-use each year. Earlinia Scott prints out many pages of labels
which we iron on the backs of the quilts. The entire History Day
is very well organized with refreshments and lunches provided to all the
workers. The children are wide-eyes and eager, especially
the boys. They always know someone in their lives who quilt or
sews. Many of the chaperones quilt also. Nez Perce County
also does the same kind of program with the forth graders. It is a
fun day for all. If you ever need a dose of children and quilting,
volunteer to help out. Thanks for all your help!

Comfort Quilt News
I received 48 comfort quilts
since last report. Thank you to all who have stepped p to the
plate and helped with the quilting of all the tops I had on hand.
There are less than 20 tops and backs at Patrick's waiting to be
quilted. That number is down quite a ways from what it has been.
Keep up the good work on the Ugly Fabric Challenge. I see some
creative things going on, like using the ugly fabric for the back of a
quilt, or using it for many, many bindings on quilts. Some people
took two ugly fabrics and have combined them into one lovely top.
Prizes awarded for this project at the June picnic.
Upcoming comfort quilt days are Monday June 2nd, and a "Saturday Sew" on
July 19th. Both will be held at Patrick's craft shop and start at
10AM. Bring sewing machine, basic sewing supplies and get to know
some of your fellow quilters.
Quilts going out this week as follow:
6 lap robes to Clarkston Care Center
7 lap robes to Veteran's Home
6 lap robes to St. Joe's Mental Health
7 lap robes to Lewiston Rehab
6 lap robes to Tender Care Homes
6 lap robes to Life Care Center
7 quilts to Pregnancy Care Center
6 quilts to Community Action Agency
6 quilts to Lewiston Fire Department
6 quilts to Asotin Fire Department
Keep Up The Good Work!

Quilt
Show news:
Ladies, you were awesome! Ticket sales for the
Quilt Raffle totaled $4221.10. Our quilt was on display some
where every month. Outside sales were 48% of all the sales,
member tickets were 52%, so you see, we could not have completed such a
task without you. Yes, I know the quilt was gorgeous, so I would
like to thank Jennifer and her crew of helpers for making our job easy.
When you have a quilt that beautiful as you ladies produced, ticket
sales were a snap. THE quilt winner was Sandy White and the person
selling the winning ticket was Marilyn Kidder.
I really want to thank each and everyone of you that
gave up on YOUR weekends to sell tickets for the guild. On behalf of the
guild, in saying THANK YOU, we would like to award the person selling
the most tickets, JEAN Martin 172 tickets.
Also, this year there were times I spent calling and
begging workers for some of these functions and we would like to give
something to Judy Foust and Virginia Sparkman for signing up for the
most functions to sell tickets.
Thank-you
Sally Heuett

| From the web
designer: I have to say I'm sorry I have been a little relaxed
on the website this past couple of months. Between the show,
family emergencies, vacation and illness I didn't get things updated as
quickly as I would have liked. Again I'm sorry and we are back
with it.
Thanks for understanding
